I'm an experienced teacher, examiner, and Spanish educator.

Me llamo Gabriela Elena Ledesma Villacís. Autóctona de Ecuador, nacionalizada en la madre patria, de aquí, de allá y de todos lados.

I hold three university degrees: an M.A. in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, an M.A. in European Studies (Management of EU Projects), and a B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations. And considering I’m not the academic type I strongly believe is that is my hability developin statregies to pass exams.

I have been teaching Spanish professionally since 2013. Prior to that, I worked in clerical roles, real estate, marketing, and reporting—or I was the enthusiastic person correcting everyone’s mistakes.

I specialize in teaching IB Spanish (Ab Initio, SL, and HL). After teaching Spanish to primary, secondary, and adult learners, I fell in love with the IB program. I enjoy teaching IB DP because it’s a time when students are as committed and engaged as I am, although I also teach other programs.

In the past five years, all my students have achieved a score of at least 6. Although the majority got a 7.

Being an examiner provides me with invaluable perspective. After earning my master's degree, attending the latest IB workshops, obtaining DELE examiner certification, and more, I became an IB examiner. The IB program is about learning, but it’s also about knowing how to achieve top scores. I am here to guide you through that process.

Latin American Spanish or Spanish from Spain? Vosotros or ustedes? It doesn´t matter if you pronounce “Barthelona” or “Barselona”. I was born and raised in Latin America but I have been living abroad for more than half of my life, especially in Spain. What is important for you is that I can translate for you Bad Bunny and Rosalía songs.
I love to travel. Who doesn’t? But, do you know someone that have hitchhiked from Madrid to Russia? Rode a camel in wild Mongolia? Endured 17 hours in a Chinese train with no seat assigned? Danced in the Brazilean carnival? If the answer is no, you are one click away to change that. And 2 clicks far from joining a trip organized by me 😉 . I do teach Spanish but also work organizing tailor-made tours and related services.
